Sessions Under the Sun is an operative branch of AUSun that focuses on research, development, operations and logistical details of adventure trips and programs for the corporate and/or private level. At the private level, Sessions customizes and operates adventure trips for families, friends, and special groups or group trips for students or teenagers. We also provide logistical and operative assistance for camps and programs in Costa Rica to foreign adventure travel agencies and companies. Sessions operates quiet open air sports such as surfing, sea kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding and back packing. We have posted examples of our favorite surf and sea kayak trip itineraries which we have tested on our own families and friends; however, we can tailor your trip to meet your needs. These itineraries can be combined to create a fabulous adventure trip or can be included as part of your own scheduled itinerary.
Private Trips / Family and Friends Trips - We prefer smaller groups for a customized trip, and we can take you anywhere you want to go. Transportation will be in a private vehicle, with a private driver or, if you prefer, you can drive yourself. Also, we offer talented local bilingual guides that can accompany you throughout your trip to be your personal translator, coordinator, teacher, and host. We recommend a guide so you can travel worry free and let him/her take care of all the details. We can book you in five star hotel, quaint bungalows, surf camps or even set up a unique camping trip at an exclusive secret spot. Let us know what you want, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Outfitting for Group Trips and Programs - If you have a school group or group of students or teenagers that you would like to bring to Costa Rica for a unique surf camp and exciting adventure experiences, you’ve come to the right site. Sessions can tailor your surf lessons to your programs needs. We have a large quiver of boards varying in size, shape and material, all of which can be at your disposition. We can coordinate all transportation, hotels, meals, alternate activities or tours, and provide as many surf instructors as you need, camping equipment and gear, and surf boards and boogie boards. We also have sea kayaks and backpacking/camping equipment.
Founded by Mélida Barbee, a well known adventure competitor within Costa Rica who was born in Guatemala from parents from the United States and raised in Costa Rica, Sessions Under the Sun offers vast experience, local knowledge, and hospitality to effectively run a smooth trip. Sessions offices are based in San José in the center of the country so that the bilingual/bicultural staff can constantly travel the land and seas to find the best most beautiful places to visit and explore. With over ten years of experience in adventures tourism in Costa Rica and abroad through Adventures Under the Sun and other adventure travel companies, Sessions offers an impeccable safety record and follows international safety standards.
