The Locations, Activities, and Dates
- Anywhere and everywhere in Costa Rica! Trips are customized for all groups.
- Back country trips: travel to remote areas inaccessible by vehicle and camp under the stars. Focus on multi-day back packing, sea kayaking, surfing, horse packing, and rafting...
- Front country trips: staying in hotels and participating in one day activities. Hotels are generally owned and operated by Costa Ricans or foreigners with an excellent concept of sustainable and eco tourism.
- Activities can include: surfing, outrigger canoeing, white water rafting, sea kayaking, horseback riding, hiking, snorkeling, biking and canopy touring...OR get involved with some community service, cultural immersion and Spanish language classes.

Many schools are placing more and more attention on the value of a group travel experience, thus Adventures Under the Sun also offers " tailored tours " for student groups. Costa Rica is the ideal location for student group travel. Our re-known political stability makes it a very safe destination. Our conservation efforts are impressive for such a small country. Costa Rica has so much bio diversity in such a small area that it is possible to take a group to various locations to learn about different things in little time. Traveling itself is a learning experience; however AUSun will focus the experience on environmental education and experiential learning.
Whether it's a " backcountry " or a " frontcountry " experience, the environmental, social, economical and political aspects of this country are well worth learning about. We try to encourage more " backcountry " travel because students depart from their comfort zones and take on a whole new perspective on life; however, a " frontcountry " experience allows them to travel to a wider range of locations. We encourage parents and teachers to gather a group of students for such a trip. In such case, his/her travel costs are free. Upon request we can plan an itinerary for whatever amount of time to many different locations depending on the size of the group, the time of year and the specific goals and demands of the group.
