Become a Guanacaste
Explorer on this amazing adventure that will take
you to the peak of an active volcano, and the deserted
beaches of an abandoned coastline. In the Rincón
de la Vieja National Park, we will backpack the slopes
of the volcano observing active mud pots and steam
vents, and bathing in soothing hot springs as well
as the cool, baby blue waters of the local streams.
Our backpacking trip will culminate when we climb
the summit of Rincón de la Vieja to watch the
sun rise over the plains of Northeastern Costa Rica
and observe the volcano's crater. After two days of
rest at a nearby lodge and various optional tours
that include the Kazm Canyon Canopy Tour, tubing on
a pristine river or herding cattle on the range, we
will head to the coastline. For four days we will
paddle one of the remaining segments of the Guanacaste
Gold Coast that have yet to be discovered. During
our kayak segment, we will camp on deserted white
sand beached and swim in private emerald coves before
heading back to San José.
